“After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here and I will show you what must take place after this. At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the One who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne …” Revelation 4:1-3 |
We love to be known as the Emerald Isle, because of this particular scripture in the Bible, and its deep significance that in Christ we may freely go through that open door into the very Throne Room of God. We find it’s also very meaningful that the Emerald is one of the stones on the breastplate of the high priest Exodus 28:18 and is one of the precious stones decorating the foundation walls of the New Jerusalem Rev 21:19
The name of our Prayer network comes from the story of Lydia in Acts Chapter 16, an action-filled account of one of Paul’s amazing Spirit-led journeys across the Middle East to the edge of Europe. It was there that they found Lydia, who opened up her heart and her home to respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our mandate is to pray for our Nation, Church & Family & and the Nation of Israel, and we seek the Lord’s direction for prayer and action by meditating His Word. Our Lydia Prayer Network is made up of small prayer groups in different parts of the country. For more information, please contact Miriam Beattie at 087 9906062 or email: [email protected]
We live in incredibly challenging days and we therefore keep well informed about what is happening in our world, but above all, we keep our focus on the Lord to “do whatever He tells us to do” (John 2:5) We have conferences and seminars and days of action at different times of the year. Details of all our events will be shown on this website.
Our most recent event last November, was A National Day of Prayer and Repentance at the National Stadium, Dublin from 11am to 5pm was an incredible experience. We prepared well, but our main prayer to God was “Lord, please come with Your Presence and Your anointing” and He did. His Presence came powerfully during the worship and stayed with us all day, mightily blessing our time of repentance with Daniel’s prayer first of all, on the big screen.
This was followed by seven Pastors and five Intercessors, repenting and praying in turn about the various issues that grieve the heart of God … idolatry of all kinds, religiosity, quenching the Holy Spirit, compromising the Word of God, immorality, abortion, corruption, anti-Semitism, injustice, greed, disunity and more.
We showed a DVD by Carter Conlon called “A Warning to God’s people in Ireland” not to slip back into becoming religious again, but be led by the Holy Spirit. In breaking bread together, we re-committed our lives to God, finishing with powerful words of hope and encouragement from the Pastors. Pastor Uzi Lotan, a believing Jewish man and excellent teacher closed the day with the blowing of the Shofar and blessing us with the Aaronic Blessing (Num 6:24-26)
We know for sure that something broke in the heavenly realms that day and we wait now in watchful expectation for the further leading of the Holy Spirit of God.
