Europe
Lydia in Europe continues to grow and know the blessing of the Lord as the Lydia intercessors meet together to pray. The ministry now has contacts and networks in 24 European nations. The ministry of Lydia in Europe began to develop in 1990 when the first European Lydia conference was held in Emmetten in Switzerland. Since then the ministry has further developed and now has a network in many nations. |
Europe consists of many nations with very varied languages, traditions and histories. European Territories have been set up. These are clusters of nations whose borders touch. Conferences are held regularly in the nations and are a constant source of encouragement to the women. Each nation also arranges to bring their Lydia ladies together on a quarterly basis. These are days that draw the women together for prayer, teaching and encouragement. The continent of Europe is not an easy place to work together in as language always has the potential for misunderstanding and it is essential that we remain watchful and take care that what is said is really being understood. The Lord amazes us at times at the doors He opens into nations and people groups.
We are very encouraged as the European team to see much younger women coming into leadership. To see the younger women rising up and taking responsibility has been a real answer to our prayers. Like so many younger women the demands on their time with families and jobs makes it more difficult for them to take on anything extra. We continue to seek the Lord for the way forward, ways to encourage the women in their call to prayer and intercession.
The Lord has made it clear that we are to work with and build up the leadership of Lydia across the European nations and plans are being made for this to continue right across the European network of Lydia. We are very aware that the world is changing rapidly and that we need to work while we can. To set up autonomous networks of Lydia in all of the European nations is one of the goals of the European Team. We would value your prayers:
1. For the small European team to be enlarged.
2. For more women to be willing to take on responsibility to share the vision of Lydia and be involved in the development in their nation.
3. For more women to hear the Call of God to the place of prayer
4. For the barriers between nations to come down.
5. For the nations to fulfil their God given destiny.
6. For an increase of a Kingdom of God mentality.
May you hear the heart of God for the nations of Europe as you pray.
Thank you
